I tried those online jobs – writing, poorly
I always heard of guys making some cash online but I never thought that it was possible. I was not that good in computers and only could manage to do the simplest and common tasks. However after college, finding a job proved much of a challenge to me that I decided to try online jobs. I was never a good writer, so writing gigs was something that I was not going for.
It took me several months of research and trial-and-error, but nothing seemed to work. I almost gave up. During all this time, I had not even made even a penny and my life was a miserable one. The little that I got from selling cans and bottles for recycling wasn’t enough to afford me a decent meal and have anything left to spend at the cyber doing my research.
I seemed like a computer guy, but wasn’t
Then one day, something happened which changed my life. I had gone to the cyber shop that I usually frequented. Then I met this lady who greeted me warmly. She told me that she was there the previous day but I never showed up. She had a task that she wanted me to do.
She narrated to me how she was told that I was a ‘computer guy’ – because of the hours that I spent on the internet – and she wanted me to create a website for her. As broke as I was, I decided to take on a task that I had never done before. It was true, that I had at one point told the cyber attendant that I was a computer engineer in one of my bids to enjoy some free session whenever I was broke, but I knew that I had been caught.
Anyway, part of the reason that I accepted the task was because I felt that more would be coming or the lady would help me find a job. I explained to her how busy my schedule was so that I could buy time of developing the site (I knew that I had to research hard). This helped me get more time.

The next few days I spent researching. Luckily, I realized that I could use some platforms like
I had this feeling that the lady would reject it, but was surprise when she said it was nice. She paid me my dues and tipped me. That was my start. In the next few days, I started getting some more clients, mostly referrals from my initial client.
The more I worked, the better I became. All that helped me establish a small office as I dug deeper into the programming world to become a better programmer. I’m also considering going back to college to learn more about programming.
